If the main role of a lawmaker were to be defending their political bosses in political rallies and on social media, then Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi would rank top of the list of the most hardworking MPs, when it comes to his ferocious defense of Kenya’s DP Dr. William Ruto.
The scale of evasiveness and impunity exhibited by this supposedly independent body, especially when the Supreme Court recently ordered scrutiny of its servers and original electoral documents, is not only numbing but absolutely mind-boggling. What is even more vexing is the fact that IEBC’s impunity seems to emanate from evidently powerful dark forces that have, hitherto, firmly held the electoral body and the entire country hostage. To make things worse, the international community has proved that democracy in third world countries only matters when the Western Powers’ interests are at stake.
First mistake; he has been Missing In Action for far too long, that even if he defects from ODM, he will be hardly missed. The party moved on during his long absence as party SG. In fact nobody will notice that he left! Second mistake. To add insult to injury, he decided to arrogantly answer through his wife, who insulted the party members when they questioned his prolonged absence from party affairs; An extremely wrong move!
The new narrative that everyone is corrupt is complete hogwash aimed at spreading the guilt of a blatantly gluttonous ruling elite, who steal a whopping one third of the country's budget annually! The gargantuan gap between the rich and the poor is an appalling ignominy that calling it immoral will be a perfect understatement.
Finally, The security Amendment Bill which was passed by a chaotic, finger-biting and terribly acrimonious Baraza in parliament on 18th December, was signed into law by the president barely 24 hours later.
